These tourists were making their way to Pulau Giam by foot!
This only happens once a year on the first and second day of Lunar New Year. The water will be at your knee high for a few hours in the morning starting about 10 am. It takes about 10-20 minutes to walk from Teluk Nipah Beach to the island opposite, Pulau Giam.
If you are keen to experience this, please remember to wear a pair of water boots or slippers as there are a lot of rocks & corals.
Do take note that water level will rise in few hours' time and make sure that you have enough time to walk back or will be stucked at Pulau Giam!
